Dr. Yehoshua Maor

Yehoshua Maor is the coordinator of the HU CEAEH. He completed his Ph.D. at the Hebrew University in pharmacology and molecular biology under the supervision of renowned Prof. Raphael Mechoulam. His research focused on cell biology applied to the cardiovascular system and the involvement of the cannabinoid system. In recognition of his discovery of novel cannabinoids, which exert blood pressure control and are devoid of psychotropic activity, he was awarded the 2006 Kaye Innovation Award. He has been an intern at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center – Division of Experimental Medicine, under the supervision of Dr. Jerome Groopman from Harvard Institutes of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Maor's main research interest is human exposure to residues of pharmaceuticals in the environment, their behavior in water and soils and their fate. He is also interested in researching human bio-monitoring of environmental contaminants of emerging concern.

Yehoshua is also a Co-PI on the Center’s project: Serum Carbamazepine Levels Among Healthy Israeli Volunteers.
